SHOW POWER: Sprayed the number
He walks into a police station in Gombak, declares himself a “|)atuk” and demands the release of six Gs from the lock-up.
Believing he could intimidate the police, the businessman had
earlier telephoned an officer at the station and asked that the six
members of G36 being held in the lock-up be released.
However, shortly after arriving at the station, the “|)atuk” found
himself arrested. And it was also revealed that the 52-year-old was a
not only a bogu5 |)atuk, but that he was wanted by police in connection
with a cheating case.

Police learned that the man had been designated by the gang to seek
the release of its members who had been arrested. In his abusive call
to the officer, the man agreed to go to the station to “settle the
case” for the release of the six. He was arrested shortly after he
arrived at the station.
Besides the cheating case, |
charged with criminal intimidation under Section 507 of the Penal Code,
also had a “string of other cases” against him.
The six members of G36 being held in the lock-up are aged
between 25 and 40 and police sources said they were “VIP” Gs who
had been arrested around Gombak and Kuala Lumpur, following a tip off
on Sept 7.
“We believe they are extremely dangerous and were involved in 3xtortion, |v|urder, causing hur7 and co11ecting pro7ec7ion money,” |
“Some of them are high in the gang’s hierarchy. We are preparing the
case against them to be held at the Simpang Renggam detention centre in
Johor under the Emergency (Public Order and Prevention of Crime)
Ordinance 1969,” he added.
Two of them are said to be leaders of G36 in the Batu Caves and Gombak areas.
Police are also investigating whether they were involved in the
abduction of gang leader “B4ngs4r 5h4n” or R. R4vi 5h4nk4r, 40, who was
stabbed, beaten and handcuffed before being abducted in |
28 by five men posing as policemen.
About G36
G36 has hundreds of members and is notorious in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and other States.
Malay Mail learnt that the G's members are prominent in
areas like Klang, Cheras, Sentul, Gombak and Selayang. They are also
found in Seremban and as far away as Johor Baru.
The G apparently collects protection money, based on the number 36.
Sources said students, who were also among the gang's recruits,
would be asked to pay sums of RM3.60; while bigger "clients" RM360 or
RM3,600 and so on.
It was also reported in an English daily that the G was believed
to have sprayed the number "36" all over the Cheras industrial area.
Sources said the gang is also actively involved in the |)rug trade in Selangor and K.L.
